Do you know what’s worse than a cheating partner, a partner that gets physical with you? The public was put in utter dismay as the trending video of Dana White slapping his wife in a nightclub surfed the internet. It took everyone by surprise as the couple have been happily married for over 27 years.
The video was released by TMZ and it revealed a heated argument between Dana and his wife at the nightclub in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico. The video captured White walking towards his upset wife and she proceeded to hit him in the face. White didn’t walk away instead he returned the favor by slapping her twice which led to further struggles before she took off.
When he appeared before the media team at the UfC’s Apex to answer questions about the occurrence, he professed his humiliation about the situation and stated.
“People are going to have opinions about this and most of their opinions would be right,” he further said “You don’t put your hands on a woman ever, my wife and I love each other. We’ve been together for a very long time. We’ve known each other since we were little, and this was just one of those unfortunate situations.”

Dana White Slaps Wife, He Apologized
As Dana publicly apologized, he enforced that no one should defend him for his actions.
“There are no excuses for it. It’s something I’m going to have to leave with for the rest of my life.”
He further stated that this was his first time laying hands on a woman and it would be his last. Dana also expressed that personal discussions about the occurrence were held by him, members of the broadcast partner ESPN, and Ari Emmanuel of Endeavor. Explaining their resistance to addressing the public concerning the issue. White stated that he has already been dealing with and will continue to deal with his punishment from the incident.
When asked what his punishments were, he stressed the fact that he would have to live with this label for the rest of his life, and whoever had held him in high regard before would most likely drop him.
“The 30 days off only affects the company, my fighters, and my employees, not me. It isn’t enough punishment.”
He failed to define the changes to the UFC policy concerning its athletes and domestic violence. A policy that seemed to be diverse based on each case. He referred to his previous statement:
“You don’t bounce back from this” and repeated it while adding, “For the rest of my life people will label me as this.”
He proceeded to say he wouldn’t want his situation to affect the athletes who were set to compete in that weekend’s UFC fight night. White insisted that the incident did not affect his fighters who had worked so hard to prepare for their matches. He took all the blame saying it was his mistake, not theirs.
